This 2 week workshop will be held at the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) in Minneapolis,
August 2-13, 1999. The aim of the workshop is to bring together mathematicians, computer scientists, and electrical engineers in the area of coding theory, systems theory and symbolic dynamics so that the techniques from one area can be applied to problems in the other area.
