Télécom SudParis is recruiting an Associate Professor with research interests in statistics and applied probability with application to statistical signal processing or information theory. The strategic objective of recruitment is to meet the growing demand for engineers with expertise in signal processing and information theory with a strong foundation in applied probability and statistics to work in fast-growing areas, such as artificial intelligence, energy, and data science.

The candidate's research will be in the field of probabilistic modeling and statistical processing, with applications in one of the priority fields of Environment and Climate, Energy, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science, Networks, Internet of Things, and Numerical Simulation.  The recruited candidate will provide teaching in statistics, probability, stochastic processes, machine learning, in common core and in specialization, for the various teaching programs of the engineering school.  The candidate will be responsible for teaching the core curriculum for the engineering diploma, and supervising student projects and doctoral theses. They will offer courses at Masters level in their area of ​​expertise. Courses will be delivered in French and English.

The candidate will join the "Communications, Images, and Information Processing" (CITI) department and will be part of the "Information Processing for Images and Communications" (TIPIC) team of the SAMOVAR laboratory.  At the level of the Polytechnic Institute of Paris (IP Paris) the candidate will be part of the Department of Mathematics.
