The Pennsylvania State University, Department of Electrical Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of signals and systems including but not limited to subareas of control, information theory, machine learning and signal processing. Applications on all levels will be considered. Preferred candidates for the position must hold a doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with appropriate experience. 

Specifically, the department seeks to add to its existing strength in the systems area by adding an outstanding faculty member with a commitment to interdisciplinary research. All areas related to cyber-enabled innovation are of interest including but not limited to complex systems behavior, the smart grid, energy-conscious systems, analysis of very large data sets, systems biology and bioinformatics.  This search is part of a Penn State Cyberscience Cluster Hire in Computation and Data- Enabled Science and Engineering (see http://www.ics.psu.edu/hire.html ).
