Huawei Technologies’ Mathematical and Algorithmic Sciences Lab in Paris offers 11 PhD scholarships. The ideal candidates will have an advanced degree (MEng, MSc or equivalent) in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Physics from a top university with a genuine interest in applying their expertise to develop disruptive technologies in areas such as cloud computing and data centers, wireless, cable and fiber communications and internet of things, with applications to 5G wireless communications and beyond, SDN and big data.

Our research covers a number of disciplines such as machine learning and compressed sensing, online algorithms, Bayesian inference, operations research and combinatorial optimization, queuing theory, network science, communication theory, stochastic geometry, random matrix theory, differential geometry, coding, distributed storage codes, signal processing, (quantum) information theory, security and cryptography.

Huawei is a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider whose business spans telecommunication infrastructure, consumer electronics and business IT solutions. We are seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to work on the theoretical underpinnings of the most challenging engineering problems in information and communication technologies. By joining, the Mathematical and Algorithmic Sciences Lab, you will have the opportunity to work with our outstanding research scientists, all of whom hold PhD degrees from prestigious institutions, and you will be supervised by one of our senior research scientists.
