The Department of Electrical Engineering within the Division of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Caltech invites applications for an untenured tenure-track position at the assistant or associate professor level. We are seeking highly qualified candidates committed to a career in research, scholarship, and teaching. The successful candidate will have the ability to initiate and pursue an independent research program in significant areas of scholarly study, and to contribute substantially to the education of Caltech students. The search is in the broadly-defined area of EE-systems. Research areas of interest include, but are not restricted to, signal processing, communications and information theory, control systems, networks, optimization, machine learning, large data systems, power systems, robotics and autonomous systems and cyber-physical systems.

Candidates are required to submit a current CV, research and teaching statements, copies of key publications, and a list of three to six references. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their application by December 15, 2013, although all applications received until January 15, 2014 will be reviewed by the search committee.

Initial appointment at the assistant professor level is for four years and contingent on completion of the PhD degree. Exceptionally qualified candidates may also be considered at the tenured, full professor level.
