Announcements Process

What should be the workflow of announcements among mailing list, website, and newsletter?

A potential recommendation:

  1. Announcer drafts news item on website
  2. Online Editors review, add links, restructure as necessary and publish
  3. Announcer drafts short email for mailing list with link to website news item
  4. Newsletter editor pulls and expands upon stories of interest along with longer articles

Another possibility would be for the Online Editor(s) to create a weekly/monthly digest from the news items on the website for broadcasting to the announcements list.  This would eliminate step 3 above.
