Advertising ISIT, ITW and Schools

As an organizer of an IT Society-sponsored event, you have several special ways to advertise your ISIT, ITW or School of Information Theory. In addition, we request two items from event organizers.

Advertising Your Event

Web Site

Your event should be on the calendar of Upcoming Events.  If not, submit a new Event

Mailing List

The IT Society has two mailing lists for conferences:

  1. The News and Events list reaches about 800 subscribers. This is easy to use — if you post CFPs and registration deadlines as a news item on our website, it will also go out on this mailing list.
  2. The Conferences Mailing List has about 2300 subscribers.  This list is hosted on Mailchimp. We strongly encourage event organizers to use this mailing list. You can either designate one person to design the Mailchimp emails, or we can send a basic email for you. Contact the Online Editor [email protected] if you are interested in using this.

IEEE vTools eNotice

IEEE provides eNotice service to reach members.  This is managed by IEEE and not the IT Soc's Digital Presence Committee. Contact the IT Society Admin (Ashley Tufuga) to use this service.  While eNotice reaches IT Society Members, the Mailchimp list reaches past conference attendees, even if they are not members.

Social Media

The IT Society has social media accounts on TwitterLinkedIn and Facebook.  If you are interested in posting directly to these accounts, contact [email protected].

Our Requests

The Digital Presence Committee makes two requests of conference organizers:

Your Registration Site

We would like your help in expanding our conferences mailing list.  We'd like to ask that you add the following opt-in check box to your registration form:

Stay Up-to-Date

☑️ I want to receive email notifications about upcoming ISIT, ITW and Schools of Information Theory.

After your event is finished, please coordinate with the Online Editor [email protected] to export these email addresses.

Your Videos

Even in the pre-pandemic era, it was common to record plenary and tutorial sessions on video.  The IT Society has a rapidly increasing video section.

We hope that you record plenary and tutorial sessions so that we can add them to the video section.  Soon after your event is completed, please contact [email protected] about disseminating your videos to members.
