Biography

Ikuo OKA received the B.S., M.Eng., and D.Eng. degrees in Communication Engineering from Osaka University, Osaka, Japan, in 1978, 1980, and 1983 respectively. In 1983 he joined the Faculty of the University of Electro-Communications as an Assistant Professor. In 1991, he moved to the Department of Information & Communication Engineering, Osaka City University. Since April 2004, he has been a Professor in the Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka City University. In 1988-1989, he was a visiting scholar and a Research Engineer in the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of California, Los Angeles. In 2001-2002, He was a visiting Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department, University of Hawaii at Manoa. His current research interest includes coding, modulation and networking.
He is a Senior member of the IEEE, and a member of the SITA and IEICE.
