Postdoctoral Researcher Positions Available
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Edge Institute (ai-edge.osu.edu) recently founded by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) is looking to hire multiple postdoctoral researchers in the broad areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, optimization, wireless networks, and cloud computing. The Institute is led by The Ohio State University (OSU) and has 10 university partners including CMU, Purdue, UMass Amherst, Northeastern, UIUC, UIC, UT Austin, Wisconsin, and U. of Washington. This exciting new Institute is expected to play a world-wide leadership role in areas of artificial intelligence and wireless networking. It will provide unique opportunities for researchers to conduct innovative research in AI and networks, and their intersection. The postdoc opening is on a multi-year basis, renewed every year, subject to performance evaluation. The postdoc will have opportunities to work with multiple faculty members from OSU and the 10 other institutions of AI-Edge, and will have the opportunity to do internships with top research labs from IBM, Microsoft, AT&T, and Qualcomm.
The postdocs are expected to have skills that cover one or more of the following areas:
- Network Theory/Optimization
- Online Learning/Reinforcement Learning/
- Machine Learning/Deep Learning
- Network Security/Robustness
- Distributed Learning and Optimization
- Wireless Physical Layer/Network systems
- Wireless Systems Experimentation
- User and/or Network Privacy
The postdocs are also expected to actively work with graduate students, faculty members, and our industry and DoD partners. Part of their responsibilities will include helping to chart new exciting directions for the Institute, develop course modules, proposal writing, and helping with NSF’s reporting requirements. Outstanding candidates are expected to be highly motivated to work in the aforementioned interdisciplinary areas, have strong evidence of scholarship, and excellent organization and communication skills.
